2013 RAMADAN APPEAL

ASSALAMU ALAYKUM

The Foundation is rolling out 5(five) Beitul Maals in the poverty stricken areas of  Hanover Park Delft (Blikkiesdorp and surrounds) Manenberg (Die Laan)  Lavender Hill, Athlone, the Malay Quarter and Mitchells Plain.  During the year its focus is on up to 15 feeding schemes which includes feeding unemployed  work seekers on the road, orphans and the elderly.  At donors request it issues section 18A tax deduction certificates as the Foundation  is SARS approved.

During Ramadan many Muslims have their water and electricity cut because of financial difficulties. The Foundation wants to assist them to restore these basic services to help Muslims during this holy month in the short term and assist them to be registered as indigent and get their arrears to be written off with the assistance of the whip of the  AL JAMA-AH  Political Party. Plans are in place to provide fasting Muslims “in need” with breakfast to prepare them for the fasting day. At the Delft Centre near Blikkiesdorp they will perform Tahajjud and get a warm meal for Sheiri and perform the Fajr salaah insha Allah. Taxis will be provided for those living far from the Centre and those who have to walk through dangerous areas. They will be provided with an Iftar ( “Boekah )hamper to prepare a meal to break their fast at home. There will be a special focus to assist Muslim orphans. All this depends on funding and your duahs insha Allah.

The Foundation is setting up a sewing team to use “zakaah material” to make dresses for Eid for the many destitude girls and women in the townships. During the year 2000 dresses have already been distributed with the oversight  of Moulana Ismail Moosajee  assistant Imam of the  Mosque at the  Islamia College.  On Eid Day the Foundation wants to distribute 5000 hampers.   Looking forward to your financial support  and duah insha Allah.
