Distributing food parcels in Wellington

Distributing food parcels in Wellington

Cllr Stulweni and his team visited a farm in Wellington to distribute food parcels to about 26 families.

There were issues identified on the farm and the main one being:
– no water
– far distance from the main road
– no owner to account for the condition of the farm dwellers

According to the farm dwellers, and as seen there is no water on the farm.
Water was last delivered on the farm before COVID in the tanks.
And due to there being no owner there is no-one who can assist in getting the people water.

It was made a point to speak to someone in charge at Drakenstein municipality to get water delivered regularly.
