Commemorating 77 years of Nakba

Commemorating 77 years of Nakba

Al Jama-ah attended the commemoration of 77 years since the Nakba held at the Castle of Good hope by the Palestinian Solidarity Campaign on the 18th May 2025.

We further are reminded of the continued genocide by pro israel supporters in Palestine.
This event today was attended by hundreds. As South Africans we remember all too well our brutal history under apartheid, and the remnants of apartheid that continue to threaten our constitution and the freedom we have fought for.

Today we are reminded of our lack of freedom, the impact of apartheid and the effect of zionism. We are very aware that in Palestine millions have been displaced, are being deliberately starved, being denied aid and thousands have been massacred and continue to face eminent threat by the unlawful barbaric state called Israel.

We know all too well that the threats being faced by our people in South Africa is as a result of a common danger. Our people here are evicted from land, homes, farms, they are starved and crippled by ever increasing exorbitant costs and crime.

Crime has been allowed to go rampant as has substance abuse, old age-old tools of apartheid and enslaving our people being blatantly used and flaunted by our oppressors.
The sad reality for all is the test on our humanity globally and we ask ourselves why!

Many have forgotten who has helped us and at what cost
Palestinians were on forefront of helping SA and today we have those amongst us who only cares about their own interest and have forgotten Palestine.
We know that we will never be free until Palestine is free!
We have a duty to unite and mobilize as what is happening in Palestine affects us all.
From the River to the sea Palestine will be free!

Freedom Day Fundraising Event for Gaza

Freedom Day Fundraising Event for Gaza

Advocate Shameemah Salie,MP from the Al Jama-ah political party attended the fundraising event in Bloubergstrand on Freedom Day.

A dozen swimmers braved the icy waters of the Atlantic Ocean on Freedom Day to raise much needed money for humanitarian assistance in Gaza, as well as awareness for the plight of the Palestinians.

Symbolically, the event, which took the form of a relay, saw the swimmers cross the 7.4km stretch from Robben Island to Bloubergstrand, on Sunday, April 27.

Our youngest swimmer, Saarah Moosajee, 11 years old, has raised over R 50000 towards this initiative.

Advocate Shameemah Salie had the following to say: We are resilient in our support for Palestine. We are very proud of all the swimmers who undertook the swim from Big Bay Bloubergstrand to Robben island and back. The youngest swimmer being 11 years old, young Sarah you have all made us proud.

Funds of over R 600 000 has been raised through this initiative for Gift of Givers to assist Palestinians impacted by the genocide being committed by the unlawful occupiers, the apartheid state called Israel.

To all who supported the swimmers, and the event may your efforts be rewarded abundantly Ameen!

To those of Big Bay who at last minute switched off their humanity and withdrew their support to the event, always remember that everything we have comes from God and we thank God that angels were sent to ensure the event was a success despite those who attempted to sabotage.

In support of International Quds Day Picket

On the 28th March ALJAMA-AH showed their support by joining the International Quds Day Picket and Mass Jummah at the US Consulate in Sandton.

Millions of people in Iran and across the world took to the streets to mark Day, voicing their solidarity with Palestinians and decrying Israeli genocide in the besieged Gaza Strip.

DM Honourable Ganief Hendricks rendered a speech.

In support of Palestine: Mass pro-Palestine Rally in Sea Point

In support of Palestine: Mass pro-Palestine Rally in Sea Point

Adv Shameemah Salie, MP and Palestinian Activist attended the mass pro-Palestine rally which was held at the Mandela Glasses in Sea Point, led by the Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) and other key organizations.

During the march it was duly noted that there are entities amongst the pro-apartheid rogue unlawful state of Israel factions who have been attempting to challenge freedom of speech, movement of the pro Palestine stance especially motorcades, and rallies held in Sea Point.

Important aspects highlighted was the need for low-cost housing in Sea point and surrounds.

Return of Sea point land and surrounds from which many had been evicted by the colonizers and oppressors.

The apartheid convention bodies were established and meetings to be held.

Some of the demands made during the rally include urging the South African government to:

-Impose sanctions and boycotts on the unlawful rogue apartheid state of Israel.
-Prosecution of SA citizens serving in the Israeli occupation
-Passing of the “Apartheid Convention Bill” to hold oppressors accountable.
It is showing that not one person serving in foreign armies has done due diligence to secure the legal permission required.

These criminal acts are going unpunished by the NPA and despite meetings with top structures there have been promises but no real attempts by the NPA to apply the law.

It is thus time to hold the NPA accountable

During the rally pro Palestine parties reiterated their support to the Palestinian cause and the apartheid bill which will ensure accountability of all who are guilty of apartheid.
