Al Jama-ah MP recognizes that 24 swimmers braved the cold Atlantic on Freedom Day in solidarity with Palestineto raise awareness of the plight of Gaza and to assist Gift of Givers and Palestine Solidarity campaign in raising funds for aid for Gaza.

We recognize that Saarah Mosajee and Amaan Fataar form part of the youngest of the contestants that participated in this event.

We recognize that to stand up for humanity and against injustice and oppression as an adult can be difficult and we note that at such a young age it does not come without challenges.

We have witnessed those who are not in agreement with supporting Palestine and humanity lashing out and denying youth recognition and we say Not in our name or on our watch!

We are very proud of our youth for standing up and working on a cause to assist with aid for those who are suffering the worse atrocities imaginable.

The youth is our beacon of hope, and we congratulate the parents of these amazing young girls for their support and guidance to their daughters.

May more youth be inspired and motivated by these brave souls and commit to standing up and protecting humanity.

Saarah Moosajee and Amaan Fataar parents and family may you and all who participated may you always be under the guidance and protection of the Almighty Ameen

I wear the keffiyeh everyday. Do you?

I wear the keffiyeh everyday. Do you?

World Keffiyeh Day, observed annually on May 11th, is a day to raise awareness and show solidarity for the Palestinian cause by wearing the iconic keffiyeh, a black-and-white checkered scarf.

It serves as a visual reminder of Palestinian resistance, resilience, and global support for their struggle. The keffiyeh has become a powerful symbol of Palestinian identity and is worn by activists and individuals worldwide to demonstrate solidarity and protest against the ongoing conflict

The 11th May was Mothers Day as well in South Africa and my heart goes out to all Mothers around the world who has lost a child and to every child who lost their mother due to genocide, war, crime, apartheid, conflict and due to those who are complicit in crimes against humanity 😢

The keffiyeh I wear everyday is a reminder of resistance and resilience and a global struggle against common oppressors and criminals.
