Al Jama- ah women’s league salutes the organisers of Action Group of Electricity Must Fall

We commend you for standing up for those most affected by the exorbitant costs imposed by the City of Cape Town.

Working in the communities we are all to familiar with the plight of our treasures in our communities, our elders who are already struggling to survive on their pension. Now our elders are taxed with the injustice of added costs by the City of Cape Town for electricity.

Our seniors are expected to run from pillar to post for rebates and given the tedious task at their age to beg for assistance.
Our seniors, we see you and we are here to fight for you!

We are all to familiar with the plight of struggling mothers and fathers who are affected by these costs.
We see you are here to stand up for you and your children

Our mothers battling for maintenance for children and now expected to further fight a battle against ridiculous increase of electricity costs.
We see you and are here to raise up and support you

Many in our vulnerable communities are unemployed and cannot afford transport and yet are expected to pay excessive electricity costs.
We are here we see you and are here to stand up for you

Our foster homes, orphanages, our special needs adults and children – we see you!

We are here to stand up to grant you ease!

26 August 2023 is a day where we as citizens stand united against the crippling costs implemented by those who sold out the residents of Cape Town by proclaiming they care and instead showed their care by hitting the pockets of the most vulnerable in our communities – the most affected, the poor and middle class.

The increased cost is a way of keeping people poor and pushing middle class into the poverty line.

Who are the beneficiaries of these elevated costs by the City?

We as the Al Jama-ah women’s league encourage all to stand up against these ridiculous increase in costs!

Join us 26th August, and make your voice heard.
