Al Jama-ah (The Congregation) was founded on the 23rd of April 2007 by party leader Honourable Ganief Hendricks and has contested in the 2009, 2014, and 2019 national elections.

In 2019 Al Jama-ah won its first national representative as well as one seat in the Western Cape Legislature.

Identifying the need of our society at large for individuals that place the interest of citizens on the forefront. To serve and not be served. Al Jama-ah has grown and expanded to attend to a range of concerns and serve a vast range of communities in need.

After careful considerations over a period of time, Al Jama-ah screened and selected a diverse group of individuals who have been actively serving their communities to form an integral part of Al-Jama-ah.

On the 30th of March 2021, the official announcement of the Al Jama-ah National Executive Council (NEC) was presented by the President of Al Jama-ah Honourable Ganief Hendricks.

The selected individuals are efficiently equipped to ethically serve and uphold the aims, objectives, and vision of Al Jama-ah and ultimately the citizens of South Africa.  A vision of serving all communities

Al Jama-ah provides a political platform for all communities and represents people of different social and ethnic backgrounds. The party is committed to rectifying inequalities, upholding justice, serving with compassion, maintaining values and ethics, ensuring community upliftment, development of, and empowerment of all South Africans whilst remaining conscious of the diversity in our country.

We congratulate each and everyone selected to serve on the NEC and look forward to positive change that will benefit people longing for a political platform that caters for their needs.

Al Jama-ah wishes to extend a personal invitation to all South Africans to become a part of the vision of Al Jama-ah to effect a positive and beneficial change for all citizens.
