JAN – JUNE 2023

EVENTS AND PROGRAMS

June 16 Youth Festive tournament

Cllr Kabelo Nthekiso held a June 16 youth sports tournament in the Madibeng area which consisted of teams from the ward. The aim of the tournament was to keep young people in the ward and neighbouring wards busy but to also increase the party visibility ahead of the 2024 national elections. Sports event have been a major boost in the campaign trail of Cllr Nthekiso and has since received a lot of support from the locals and neighbouring wards. The event took place from the 16th -18th June 2023.

One family, One garden campaign

As part of alleviating poverty and hunger in the community Cllr Nthekiso has initiated the One family, one garden campaign aimed at assisting needy families in the community to find their ground and fight poverty. The campaign has since got a lot of backing in the community and has also earned the party exposure in community radios and national radio station Motsweding Fm. Cllr Nthekiso will target 10 needy families and further build a central garden for the rest of the community to source out vegs. The campaign will also be wrapped together with a soup kitchen which will happen for the community aimed at feeding the needy in the community

Voter registration campaign trail

As part of our move to increase our voter base, Cllr Nthekiso embarked on the voter registration campaign targeting predominantly young people, during this campaign 65 young people were put on the voters roll for the first time utilizing the online voter registration portal. This is the ongoing campaign which I believe will grow our voter base and ensure we get the numbers we are looking at ahead of the upcoming elections.

On membership base

Through my mini office in the klipgat area I’ve managed to secure 198 signed memberships thus far which will be paid in the next quarter. The aim is to submit 300 copies at once and ensure proper vetting process for applicants and to further ensure that all the applicants are registered voters who abide by the party political position. This will eliminate any chances of having opportunists within the organizational ranks. The memberships were presided by my own membership renewal which was signed and paid.
