MONTHLY REPORT

 

 

  • Councillor Salie attended scheduled City meetings and prepared for the relevant meetings
  • Councillor Salie continues to form integral part of media team providing photographs, educational pieces and informative updates on several media platforms
  • Several meetings was attended by Cllr Salie as well in respect of the party
  • Membership drive and speaking to future and current members on vision, mission and aim of Al Jama-ah
  • Rebates, housing application and general queries are dealt with on a daily basis. As well as media queries.
  • Councillor Salie contributed to and spearheaded the Cancer awareness day in New Horizons Pelican Park. This awareness day provided a platform for cancer survivors, sufferer’s and those impacted by a family member with cancer to share their and learn from each other’s experience and to provide unique support system.
  • Councillor assisted with collection of clothes and blankets to assist with disaster in Hazendal where three shacks was gutted by fire and where residents lost everything.
  • Councillor Salie assisted with several service delivery requests during the month of November from electricity, sewerage issues, water related issues, and observation on law enforcement potential abuse of power and failure to comprehend by laws. Cllr Salie follow up on the notices lodged and held observational watch on matters where City law enforcement allegedly had exceeded their force
  • Councillor Salie was called to and assisted protestors arrested and injured in Palestinian marches. Matters were reportedly law enforcement had been involved
  • Councillor Salie provides regular educational material and updates to matters affecting community on all social media platforms
  • Councillor Salie assisted with a successful clean-up weekend at Mowbray cemetery, as well as raising of Palestinian flag for first time at the cemetery
  • Councillor Salie is on forefront as Palestinian activist providing updates on Palestine, creating awareness, assisting with pickets and marches and fundraising for GazCouncillor Salie was further a speaker at the event of Icare childrens foundation, attended charity event for things of wheels and was guest speaker on Radio Islam and VOC during this month
  • Councillor IEC registration constantly provided information on registration as well as importance of application for smart card identity documents. Cllr Salie was further proactive in ensuring visibility at as many vd as possible
  • Councillor assists with mobilization of marches, pickets, legal support, and is one of the voices against the genocide being committed in Palestine
