We are cleaning up the neighbourhood

We are cleaning up the neighbourhood

Today, in collaboration with the Regional Director and his office, the Bomb Squad, and other entities, successfully started a clean up in Lenasia CBD and its surroundings within the Lenasia area.

We’re Grateful to the RD(Mickey Padyachee) for implementing this initiative, which was a result of our ongoing discussions about the dilapidation of Lenasia CBD.

We’d like to thank all the entities involved, especially the Bomb Squad, for their efforts in making this a success._

This initiative sends a clear message to the community, shop owners, residents and businesses:
*Let’s work together to keep Lenasia clean and beautiful.*

It’s a simple matter of taking responsibility for our own properties and working together to maintain a clean environment. We won’t tolerate Illegal dumping and businesses operating Unlawfully in the area.

Our goal is to create a SAFE, CONDUCIVE, and PLEASANT environment for all residents and businesses.

We’re also addressing the issue of building owners renting out properties to anyone without considering the welfare of the CBD.

SEVERAL businesses were closed, others were issued notices to non-compliant businesses, and we’ll continue to do so until our environment is safe and clean.

We’ll be conducting further clean-ups over the next few weeks, and we appeal to everyone to join hands in keeping Lenasia clean.

*Let’s work together to make Our Community a better place!*

Thank you,

•Cllr Jakes Karolia

Al Jama-ah women: Answering the needs of our Communities

Al Jama-ah women continue to answer calls to assist on the ground

Adv Shameemah Salie on the 14 October responds to and sought assistance for a family at home whereby the wendy house was destroyed as a result of a fire.

From camera footage it appeared an old Telkom pole caught fire and resulted in the impact on the relevant home.

Several adults and young children were affected as all their belongings was destroyed.

We have to say a huge shukran to Ashraful Aid who immediately responded to our call to assist with aid.

We encourage those who are able to sponsor and to donate to organisations such as Ashraful Aid which ensures that in situations such as these the neccessary emergency aid can be available.

The young people under the watchful eye of their mentor have combined creating awareness and education on the genocide being committed in Gaza, while being mindful of the challenges within their own community.

The youth raised funds and committed to feeding those in need in their area whilst at same time raising their voices against atrocities being committed in Gaza
