CUBA HUMANITARIAN APPEAL- AL JAMA-AH CALLS ON JUSTICE LOVING SOUTH AFRICANS TO DONATE GENEROUSLY TOWARDS HUMANITARIAN AID FOR CUBA:

Al Jama-ah strongly condemns unilateral sanctions and the recently upgraded embargo against Cuba and calls on South Africans to donate generously towards humanitarian relief aid for Cuba.

Economic and trade sanctions have for the past 60 years brought immense sufferings to the people of Cuba. The U.S. is tightening its already brutal blockade against Cuba resulting in total electricity blackouts and leaving Cubans without basic daily necessities.

Al Jama-ah strongly opposes any illicit unilateral sanctions that have no basis in international law. “The U.S. must stop its imperialist ventures and interference in the internal affairs of Cuba. We support Cuba’s right to defend its national sovereignty,” says Al Jama-ah’s President Hon Ganief Hendricks. The party says the late Nelson Mandela often reminded South Africans that during the liberation struggle Cuba and Fidel Castro provided much needed assistance.

Al Jama-ah appeals to justice loving South Africans to contribute towards the humanitarian relief aid with the following items:

  • 250kg sugar
  • 250kg rice
  • 150kg salt
  • 100kg cooking oil
