MMC in the City of Johannesburg and Gauteng Provincial Leader of Al Jama-ah, Thapelo Amad, attended the official unveiling of the new Independent Electoral Commission (IEC) logo, representing Party President and Deputy Minister Ganief Hendricks.
At the launch, Amad welcomed the IEC’s refreshed identity and extended congratulations to IEC Chairperson Mosotho Moepya, commending the Commission’s continued efforts to strengthen South Africa’s democratic processes.
The rebranding forms part of a broader national campaign, in partnership with the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), aimed at driving voter education, encouraging new registrations, and ensuring voters verify their details ahead of the upcoming Local Government Elections.
Delivering a clear message to the public, Amad urged citizens to take part in shaping the country’s future:
“Get up and vote.”
Political parties have also been called upon to amplify the campaign message and mobilise communities under the banner: #WozaLGE2026.
The initiative marks a renewed push to build an informed, active, and participatory electorate ahead of the 2026 elections.
