AL JAMA-AH POSTPONED HERITAGE DAY CELEBRATION: HONOURING THE QURAN – OUR GREATEST HERITAGE

Al JAMA-AH warmly invites the public to a spiritually uplifting Heritage Day Celebration on Sunday 12th October 2025, at Masjidus Saabiereen (47 Link Avenue), Macassar, under the theme:“The Quran: Our Heritage.”

As Allah reminds us in the Holy Qur’an: “And when the Qur’an is recited, listen attentively and be silent, so that you may receive mercy.” – Surah Al-A’raf, Verse 204

This significant gathering is a tribute to our Islamic legacy and the Qur’an as the most profound source of guidance and heritage. The event will feature an extraordinary live recitation by world- renowned Qari, Dr. Ahmed Neinaa of Egypt

GUEST OF HONOUR: DR. AHMED NEINAA (EGYPT)

Internationally acclaimed for his mastery and melodic recitation, Dr. Neinaa memorised the Quran by age eight and later became an expert in all ten styles of Quranic recitation (Qira’aat). He has served as Egypt’s official Qari on national television and radio since 1979.

His recitation style, praised by scholars and leaders including the late President Anwar Sadat, reflects the influence of legendary Qaris such as Shaykh Abdul Basit Abdus Samad, Shaykh Minshawi, and Abulainain Shuaisha.

This is a rare opportunity for South African audiences to experience his voice live.

Al jama-ah will recognise100 young people who have memorized the Quran by heart by honouring them with special awards.
