NO EMBARGO

PRESS STATEMENT

Al Jama-ah wishes to state unequivocally our firm and unwavering commitment to the unity and territorial integrity of the Republic of South Africa. We reject in the strongest terms any notion or proposal that the Western Cape should secede or become a separate state. The Western Cape is, and must remain, an integral part of South Africa.

This position has been clearly and consistently articulated by our Honourable Leader, Ganief Hendricks, whose public utterances reaffirm Al Jama-ah’s dedication to a united, inclusive, and sovereign nation.

Furthermore, Al Jama-ah categorically denies the baseless claims made by Shaykh Ihsan Taliep attempting to associate our party with the so-called “moonshot pact.” We reject any insinuation linking Al Jama-ah to agendas or alliances that are inconsistent with our values and principles. Such claims are misleading and do not reflect the position or direction of our movement.

As a political party firmly grounded in the principles of the Qur’an and Sunnah, Al Jama-ah remains steadfast in its mission to serve the people with integrity, justice, and accountability. Our focus remains on improving the lives of our constituents, ensuring service delivery, and advocating for policies that uplift communities and address socio-economic challenges.

We remain committed to principled leadership and to working within the democratic framework of South Africa to build a just and united society.

Update : 30 March 2026
We have received and noted the apology and clarification of the respected Shaykh.
