The City of Johannesburg has embarked on a series of high-impact service delivery operations targeting areas that are non-compliant with municipal by-laws across the inner city and Johannesburg CBD.
Led by the Executive Mayor together with members of the Mayoral Committee, the operations focus on addressing illegal connections, non-payment for municipal services, encroachment, unsafe buildings, and non-compliance with fire and safety regulations.
MMC for Community Development Thapelo Amad said the City’s approach is not only about enforcement, but also about support and regulation.
“Because we are a city that cares, we are also assisting people to comply and regulate,” said Amad.
The initiative forms part of the City’s broader efforts to improve safety, restore order, strengthen compliance, and ensure sustainable service delivery throughout Johannesburg.
