On 16 February, Deputy Minister Ganief Hendricks led an outreach programme in QwaQwa, aimed at delivering coordinated government services directly to the community.

The outreach formed part of an integrated service initiative involving the Department of Social Development (DSD), the South African Social Security Agency, the National Development Agency (NDA), and other government departments.

Residents were able to access information, raise concerns, and receive assistance on social support services, grant-related matters, and community development programmes — all in one coordinated setting. The initiative reflects a commitment to improving service delivery by ensuring that essential government services are accessible, responsive, and community-centred.

By bringing multiple departments together on the ground, the outreach sought to reduce barriers to access and strengthen direct engagement between government representatives and the people they serve.
