As we mark the sacred occasion of Eid ul-Adha, I extend my warmest greetings to all Muslims in
South Africa and across the world. Eid Mubarak. Eid ul-Adha is a time of deep spiritual reflection, sacrifice, and
compassion. It reminds us of the enduring values of faith, obedience, and selflessness, as demonstrated by Prophet
Ibrahim (peace be upon him). It is also a time to celebrate with family and loved ones, to strengthen bonds, and to express
gratitude for the many blessings we share.
As President of Al Jama-ah and Deputy Minister of Social Development, I am reminded that this sacred occasion calls us not only
to reflection, but to action. It urges us to uplift the vulnerable, support those in need, and uphold the dignity of all people.
In South Africa, we remain guided by the principles of equality, solidarity and social justice. Through our work in social
development, we continue to strengthen families, alleviate poverty, and ensure that no one is left behind. We also remember
those affected by social ills in our communities, including victims of gender-based violence, as well as our elderly who require care,
protection, and respect. We reaffirm our commitment to building a safer and more caring society for all.
On this blessed occasion, we further remember all those across the world who are enduring hardship, conflict,
displacement, and suffering. We keep them in our prayers and ask that Allah eases their difficulties and grants them relief.
The world stands in urgent need of peace. May this Eid inspire renewed commitment
to coexistence, justice, and mutual respect among nations and communities.
In the Name of the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
Eid ul-Adha reminds us of the importance of unity, generosity, and compassion. It is a time to
extend kindness to those less fortunate, to reinforce community bonds, and
to promote peace and understanding across all sectors of society.
As we gather with our families and communities, let us reflect on the shared responsibility
we carry in building a nation that is inclusive, just, and compassionate.
May this blessed occasion bring peace, prosperity, and renewed hope to all.
Eid Mubarak.
