Ganief Hendricks, leader of Al Jama-ah, hosted Carlos Feo at the Parliament of South Africa for a meeting focused on recent international developments affecting Venezuela.
The engagement was attended by the party’s Member of Parliament Imraan Ismail Moosa, Maulana Galil Brinkhuis, Al Jama-ah’s Member of the Western Cape Legislature, Professor Brian Williams, and several community activists.
During the briefing, Ambassador Feo provided an overview of the escalating tensions involving Venezuela and the United States, including the controversial capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores following a large-scale U.S. military operation earlier in 2026. The incident has drawn global attention and sparked debate over international law, sovereignty, and geopolitical stability in the region.
The meeting provided an opportunity for dialogue on international relations, solidarity among nations, and the broader implications of global power dynamics. Participants reflected on the importance of diplomacy, respect for sovereignty, and multilateral engagement in resolving international disputes.
