AL JAMA-AH Holds Rally in Lenasia Ahead of 2026 Municipal Elections

Johannesburg – In the build-up to its upcoming National Conference, Policy Conference, and the 2026 Municipal Elections, AL JAMA-AH will host a major rally on Sunday, 25 May 2025 at Harmony Park Primary School Hall, Lenasia Extension 5, beginning at 12 noon followed by lunch.

The event, themed “The AL JAMA-AH Effect”, will mark a significant moment for the Party as it officially launches its mass membership drive. AL JAMA-AH will enrol its first 1,000 members for the next five years — the first step in an ambitious campaign to reach one million members ahead of the 2026 municipal and 2029 National and Provincial elections.

The rally also celebrates the 18th anniversary of the party .AL JAMA-AH now enjoys representation across all three spheres of government and holding key delegations, including within the Department of Social Development, nationally and key oversight and leadership positions in municipalities throughout the country.

A highlight of the event will be a keynote address by Hon. Ganief Hendricks, Member of Parliament and one of ten members of the Leaders Forum of the Government of National Unity (GNU). Hendricks is expected to deliver a landmark speech outlining the Party’s five- year mission to criminalize apartheid activities. He will emphasize the need to treat such actions as crimes against humanity and will call on law enforcement agencies to actively investigate and prosecute individuals and institutions involved.

Mr Hendricks will further give an update on the progress of the party policy on communication which calls for amongst other things, free internet data and zero rated websites in recognition of world communication day which was celebrated on 17 May 2025. It must be noted that Mr Hendricks is passionate about access to internet for all South Africans as in 2002 Mr Hendricks received a recognition award as a Pioneer of the Internet.

Following the rally, Hendricks will proceed to lay charges against several individuals engaged in apartheid-era crimes — including Members of Parliament who recently visited Israel and publicly denied the existence of apartheid there.

The Party will also provide updates on the progress of a legislative bill aimed at penalising both domestic and international perpetrators of apartheid practices.

AL JAMA-AH invites all members of the media, community leaders, and the public to attend this historic rally as the Party advances its commitment to justice, equality, and principled governance
