Under the leadership of Adv. Shameemah Salie, Al Jama-ah interns are being given meaningful opportunities to engage with international delegations from Sri Lanka, China and Malaysia, including invitations extended by the President of Al Jama-ah, Hon. Ganief Hendricks, to participate in engagements and gain valuable exposure.
This is more than simply attending meetings. Our interns are gaining real-time, practical experience in diplomacy, bilateral relations and trade, marketing, social media engagement, political campaigning, communication and the practical application of their own skills and studies.
Their responsibilities extend into the communities we serve. They are learning to investigate community needs, engage directly with residents, identify challenges, provide assistance where possible and understand the realities affecting ordinary people.
They are seeing community issues in real time and being encouraged to think beyond identifying problems. They are being given opportunities to become solution-driven — to ask what can be done, how it can be done and how their own skills can contribute to meaningful change.
Our youth deserve more than being told they are the leaders of tomorrow. They deserve opportunities today to learn, participate, gain exposure and lead.
Through mentorship, practical responsibility and exposure to both community and international engagements, we are helping young people develop the confidence, knowledge and skills to become capable, compassionate and solution-driven future leaders.
