Al Jama-ah attended Honouring our leaders event in Paarl.
In attendance was MPL Galil Brinkhuis, Adv Shameemah Salie, and Boebie Cassiem. We were honoured to attend the Honouring Our Teachers in Their Lifetimes Awards Ceremony, recognising the dedication, sacrifices and invaluable contributions of educators who have devoted their lives to shaping generations.
Teachers do far more than teach in classrooms. They inspire, nurture, guide and empower our children, often going beyond the call of duty to ensure that learners have the opportunity to succeed.
We also recognise the important work of the Movement Against Illegitimate Leaders (MAIL) and the Special Action Committee – Education (SAC-E) in advocating for quality, democratic and accessible public education, while amplifying the voices of teachers, learners, parents and communities.
Al Jama-ah believes that education is a fundamental pillar of a just and dignified society. Our educators deserve respect, recognition, support and the resources necessary to fulfil their vital role.
As the powerful message reminds us:
Let us continue working together to build an education system that leaves no learner behind and honours those who dedicate their lives to educating our nation.
Al Jama-ah – Serving Humanity. Rooted in Faith. United for Justice.
