Advocate Shameemah Dollie Salie will officially be announced as the party’s Executive Mayoral Candidate for the City of Cape Town Metropolitan Municipality.

The announcement will deliberately take place among the people, rather than at a formal or lavish political event.Adv. Salie will be in Bonteheuwel — the area where she was born and where her journey began — to make the announcement directly to residents and communities.
For Adv. Salie, the mayoral chain is not a symbol of status or privilege. It represents responsibility, accountability and a commitment to serve.

Adv. Salie currently serves as an Al Jama-ah PR Councillor in the City of Cape Town and has previously served as a Member of Parliament and City Councillor. She brings more than three decades of experience in law, governance, community service and public advocacy.
Her legal career included serving as a State Advocate and later with the Office of the Family Advocate, dealing with matters involving family law, children, gender-based violence and vulnerable persons.
Her public service has extended beyond the courtroom and council chambers into communities, where she has worked on issues affecting vulnerable households, women, children, the elderly and marginalised communities.
