In the early hours of the 6th April, a fire broke out in Drakenstein Wellington, Ward 5.
PR Councillor Ahmed Stulweni is on the scene in Drakenstein/Paarl whereby about 200 informal settlements burnt down and one fatality thus far. An estimate of about 1300 families lost everything they had. The fire took place in the Mbekweni township, and most of the people affected are the farm evictees.
