Cllr. Adv Shameemah Salie who serves on the Community and health portfolio in COCT and is a board member at Mowbray Cemetery was present at the laying of foundation of the first Muslim mortuary at the Mowbray
This historical moment is invaluable to our Muslim community as the mortuary would provide a much needed facility to ensure where required the storage of and preparation of muslim bodies for burial whilst maintaining the dignity of and protection of the deceased in terms of Islamic burial rituals.
Adv Salie provided the vote of thanks acknowledging stakeholders in the project and encourages the community to support this project which caters for a need identified years ago and in time ordained by our Creator becoming a realisation Alghamdullilaah
