Today, Councillor Jakes Karolia held an important meeting with Pikitup management to discuss the growing problem of illegal dumping in and around the CBD area.
The Councillor raised serious concerns about the negative impact illegal dumping has on our environment, public health, and the overall cleanliness of our community. Pikitup officials acknowledged these concerns and committed to increasing regular clean-ups, improving waste collection schedules, and monitoring hotspot areas more effectively.
Residents are also urged to work together in keeping our city clean by reporting any illegal dumping activities and by disposing of waste responsibly. Together, we can make our CBD a cleaner, safer, and more welcoming place for everyone.
