Al Jama-ah would like to remind members of the media of the upcoming launch of its 2026 Local Government Elections (LGE) Manifesto, taking place on Saturday, 17 October 2026, at Orlando Communal Hall in Orlando East, Soweto.
The launch will outline the party’s vision, priorities and commitments for local government, focusing on key community issues, including land and housing, water and electricity, service delivery, local economic opportunities, financial governance and ethical leadership.
PROGRAMME HIGHLIGHT: AL JAMA-AH PARTNERS WITH SMF
The programme will also highlight the partnership between Al Jama-ah and SMF under the theme:
“SMF continues to honour Black Consciousness Month by finishing what was started by the students of 1976.” This commemoration recognises the legacy of the 1976 student uprising and its significance in the ongoing pursuit of community development, youth empowerment and social justice.
MEDIA ARRANGEMENTS
Members of the media are requested to arrive from 09:00 to set up equipment and prepare for coverage ahead of the main programme, which begins at 12:00.
Journalists, photographers, radio stations and television crews will have the opportunity to arrange interviews and live crossovers with the Al Jama-ah Party Leader and mayoral candidates attending the event.
Media houses wishing to schedule interviews are encouraged to make arrangements in advance.
