AL JAMA-AH and the rest of the world have watched and continues to observe in horror, since 7 October, how millions of Gazans in and around Gaza have become the victims of an unnecessary revengeful war.
AL AQSA flood has opened the eyes of everyone globally that the ‘real enemy’ of humanity is the triumvirate from the West: USA’s Biden, UK’s Sunak, and France’s Macron; they are the ones that have contributed arms to the Zionist state that has been responsible for endless atrocities in the Palestinian areas.
Al Jama-ah thanks Minister Naledi Pandor for her unwavering support for Palestine’s struggle against the occupation of their land by the Zionist state. We condemn the Zionist groups especially the South African Jewish Board of Deputies for heaping insults on the Minister and for disparaging her office. However, we call on Minister Pandor to take the next crucial step in recognition of the legitimate demands by civil society, trade unions and other progressive forces to shut down the Israeli embassy and to expel its ambassador!
While the Apartheid state of Israel, which have violated all international legal instruments, has demanded the release of the hostages that were taken by Hamas forces on 7 October, the latter has, in return, expressed its position that its leadership would release its hostages. This can, however, only happen if the Zionist Israel frees the Hamas and all Palestinian prisoners who are held in Zionist Israel prisons and for Israel to stop the bombings and to leave Gaza.
Amidst the ongoing negotiations about the happenings in Gaza – and ignoring the fact that, so far, approximately 11 000 innocent Gazans – including over 3000 children – have been killed in less than a month. We are all numbed by what we witness on TV and other social media platforms, and this should not continue a minute longer!
Al Jama-ah joins in the calls made by South Africans – who fully understand the suffering of Palestinians – for government to take punitive action against Israel; recalling its diplomatic staff from Israel is not enough! The Palestinians deserve more such as:
- Shutting down the Israeli embassy in South Africa
- Call for an immediate end to the Zionist Israel’s carnage unleashed on Palestinian women, children and civilians
- Declaring Israel an apartheid state
- Call on the justice and security clusters to swiftly invoke the legal provisions of the Foreign Military Assistance Act – by prosecuting South African citizens serving in Israel’s army of fascists
- Extend the prosecution to include those who are engaged in the illegal recruitment and deployment of South African citizens.Thank You
