Leader of the AL JAMA-AH political party Honourable Ganief Hendricks attends the press conference launching the annual #Week4Palestine (#W4P) under the theme RED CARD ISRAEL.
The press conference was held on the 30th April at 11am at the Constitution Hill. The press conference includes representatives from civil society organisations, activists, political parties and trade union movements
During his speech he said the following:
Red card Israel. Red card Israel. Red card Israel. This worked in South Africa and it will work now. It was the Red cards in sport that led to the freedoms we in South Africa enjoy.
When AL JAMA-AH hosted Palestinian resistance fighters at Parliament of South Africa before the AL Aqsa flood they asked us to remind the world of the genocide in Palestine by liking, clicking, posting and sharing. That is why the ” week for Palestine” remains the signature event in South Africa to get the freedom we want for Palestine.
Every effort that is made to help free Palestine is recognized.
AL JAMA-AH next effort is to red-card apartheid complicity and apartheid activities and criminalize it in South Africa. More directly AL JAMA-AH says support for Israel is a crime against humanity and that apartheid activities and apartheid complicity must be punished to comply with the International Convention on the suppression and punishment of the crime of apartheid. Having a game of soccer with Israeli soccer players is an apartheid activity and a crime against humanity and must be red carded . Fifa must keep its hands clean and not be involved in an apartheid activity and a crime against humanity.
The Security Council has emphasized that apartheid and its continued intensification and expansion seriously disturb and threaten international peace and security. The Security Council is convinced that the top priority is to punish the crime of apartheid. Red carding Israel now is a step in the right direction and that is why AL JAMA-AH is applauding “week 4 Palestine 2025.”
In the matter between Azapo versus President of the Republic of South Africa 1996 SA 672 (CC) the Court explicitly recognized apartheid as a crime against humanity.
HRW and Amnesty International have submitted findings to the ICJ that Israel meets the Rome Statute definition of apartheid. The crime of apartheid is already a crime under South African law due to the incorporation in 2002 of the Rome Statute of the ICC into our domestic law.
AL JAMA-AH is ready to red card honourable members of Parliament who recently visited Israel and after a short visit declared that there is no apartheid in South Africa. As we sometimes do on a Fifa soccer field I want you to join me and boo. Boo, Boo Boo
