Al Jama-ah Mayoral Candidate, Adv. Shameemah Salie, is currently campaigning in Wynberg, a community that holds a special place in her heart.
Adv. Salie lived in Wynberg from the age of 12. She has witnessed the decline of the area over the years, and many of her loved ones continue to live in Wynberg and surrounding communities.
This is personal. She knows the area beyond election campaigns and political promises.
Residents deserve safer streets, effective action against crime, a cleaner and better-maintained Wynberg CBD, functioning infrastructure, reliable municipal services, dignified responses to homelessness, affordable housing and meaningful opportunities for our youth.
The question is: how much longer must residents live with deteriorating public spaces, neglected buildings and ongoing concerns about safety and service delivery while the DA-led City continues to govern?
Wynberg deserves more than promises. It deserves accountable leadership, consistent maintenance, visible action and a municipality that puts people before politics.
Adv. Shameemah Salie believes in restoring dignity, rebuilding communities and holding those in power accountable.
Wynberg is not just another campaign stop. It is a community she knows, a community she cares about, and a community that deserves better.
